- Earlier this year, Nvidia, Mojang and Microsoft released the Minecraft with RTX Windows 10 beta, a special Insider standalone client that introduced stunning path-traced ray tracing to the world’s.
- The best one for Bedrock on Windows 10 is 'Parallax Shaders', which can be found on mcpedl.com - pair this with the 'Parallax Textures' and you'll have a much improved Bedrock experience, but without physically based rendering (3D textures), fog, realistic shadows and all that sort of thing. Very rudimentary, but still a big improvement.
Minecraft Ray Tracing has been announced in their latest beta and if things go fine, we could see it coming permanently in the game. But, what does that exactly mean? We’ll cover that here. Ray Tracing is the latest rendering technique that is transforming the world of gaming for better. Using it, you can level up the visuals incredibly.
In this post, I will tell you everything about Minecraft Ray Tracing along with the method to accessit on Windows 10 and Xbox One. So, you can experience the game in a way you never did before.
I have made a rtx 2070 and everything as described on minecraft.net, however minecraft Windows 10 does not switch to the beta version. You should actually see 1.15. Trials in tainted space rival.

What is Minecraft Ray Tracing?
Minecraft is a massively popular sandbox game that never really focused on visuals and graphics. The huge popularity of the game is credited to the addictive and intriguing gameplay it offers. But, with the advancement in technology, Minecraft is now starting to focus on graphics with the help of ‘Ray Tracing’ technology. Ray Tracing is a rendering technique for computer graphics. It helps in generating an image by tracing the path of light as pixels in an image plane. While also stimulating the effects of its encounters with virtual objects.
When you think about Minecraft, you’ll have some blocks and simple graphics appear in your mind. But, when you think about Minecraft with Ray Tracing, the picture will be very different. There will be more realistic lightings, shadows, and reflects. The graphics would really evolve with the ray-tracing support that Minecraft is introducing.
When was Minecraft Ray Tracing Launched?
Minecraft started teasing the introduction of Ray Tracing along with NVIDIA on August 19, 2019, when they released a reveal trailer. The trailer focused on NVIDIA’s RTX graphics card supporting ray tracing in Minecraft. The graphics appeared literally stunning in that. The Minecraft community then started waiting for the launch eagerly. On April 16, 2020, Minecraft officially launched a public beta offering support for RTX ray-tracing through the Xbox Insider Hub on Windows 10.
The conditions to access this was as follows:
- You have to be involved in the Xbox Insider Program.
- Availability of NVIDIA RTX 2060 or better GPU.
- Fast Internet Connection.
Once you had these, you can try the Minecraft ray tracing experience to play the game with whole new visuals. Even if you don’t meet the hardware requirements, you can still test the game.

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition celebrates the 20th anniversary of one of the most popular strategy games ever with stunning 4K Ultra HD graphics, a new and fully remastered soundtrack, and brand-new content, “The Last Khans” with 3 new campaigns and 4 new civilizations.
What is Special About Minecraft Ray Tracing?
Minecraft always lacked in terms of graphics and textures, in my opinion. With the introduction of ray-tracing support, the only shortcoming of Minecraft is gone. This new technique is very special as it makes the game a visual wonder. You can realize it just at first glance when you load up one of the six environments in NVIDIA’s Ray Tracing Worlds pack that are designed by master builders.

When I tried it, I first booted up Aquatic Adventure and the visuals made me awestruck. There were water reflections, bright waves, and the crystal blocks seemed so transparent that they felt real. It seemed as if I’m playing the game in HDR. There were new depths and textures in everything that was appearing on the screen.
How to Access Minecraft Ray Tracing on Windows 10 & Xbox One?

Highlights You’ll Notice in Minecraft Ray Tracing
Here are the key highlights that your eyes will catch when you start playing Minecraft with RTX ray tracing support.
- Realistic hard and soft shadows appearing everywhere.
- Global illumination lighting the world realistically.
- Light filling interiors through windows and gaps in the terrain.
- Illuminating blocks and other light sources cast pixel-perfect lighting.

Final Words
Minecraft Ray Tracing is the latest technique that is going to evolve the Minecraft worlds for better. The only considerable limitation that Minecraft had was the basic graphics and textures, the introduction of ray-tracing with NVIDIA’s RTX is going to get rid of that. You can now play the game with stunning graphics and reflections. That’s how. you join the beta program and access Minecraft with ray tracing support.
That’s all for this post. I hope you find it helpful. If you need help regarding anything mentioned above, feel free to visit the comments section. I’ll be glad to help you further. Have fun players!
Our namesake products are a selection of highly customizable shaderpacks for Minecraft with support for many high end graphical effects usually only seen in the latest, most cutting edge AAA titles.
Learn MoreA high resolution, realistically themed Texture Pack for Minecraft. It features Physically Based Rendering and Parallax Occlusion Mapping support. As well as high quality Specular & Normal maps.
Learn MoreContinuum is not what it used to be. Since the release of 1.3 and later, 2.0, it has been rewritten from the ground up with realism and quality in mind. It brings nearly every AAA graphical effect you could want to Minecraft. Including Volumetric Lighting, PBR, SSR, full 3D Volumetric clouds, POM, TAA, etc. It also includes a host of options to make it your own. Such as a realistic & highly configurable camera system, expansive color options and LUT support.
While Continuum 2.0 is available for free on our downloads page, we are currently working on Continuum 2.1. With 2.1 we aim to create an even more polished version of our non-RT shader, with a heavy focus on performance, quality and player immersion.
If that sounds interesting to you, and you’d like to try Continuum 2.1 ahead of it’s official release, and/or support the project, you can grab a Early Access package from the shop and start playing with 2.1 now!
LEARN MORE ABOUT CONTINUUM 2.1Continuum RT aims to make fully Ray-Traced Minecraft a reality. With the use of Hierarchical Voxel Tracing, Spatio-Temporal Filtering, and the latest lighting models. We have created something that we think is absolutely stunning, and is capable of running in real time on modern consumer graphics hardware (recommended: GTX 1080 or higher).
Unlike other Minecraft Shaders Continuum RT is not a hybrid engine. Everything is ray traced, all blocks, all entities, and eventually custom geometry! RT is full of brand new features like proper refraction through glass and water, pixel perfect shadows from ALL light sources, and state of the art cloud systems with path traced lighting; all driven by our robust camera and familiar toning systems as their counterparts in the original, non-RT Continuum Minecraft Shaders.

COMING SOON™Stratum is a realistic, high resolution and high quality resourcepack for Minecraft, built with shader compatibility in mind. It supports many high end shader effects,. Including Parallax Occlusion Mapping; which provides a new layer of depth to surfaces in game. As well as high quality normal and specular maps. Stratum also uses fully Physically Based materials, just like many AAA titles do today.
Stratum is being built specifically with our Continuum series of Minecraft shaderpacks in mind. With that said, it should work well with a variety of other Minecraft shaders. It should also run on a variety of systems. More modest gaming rigs can choose one of the lower resolution options, such as 256x, or maybe 512x. Higher end systems can go with 1024x. The highest end systems of the future can use the full 2048x pack.
Click the button to learn more about Stratum and it’s features, as well as it’s Early Access Program.
Learn more about StratumFor now, the pack is only going to cover the base Minecraft textures, but in the future there will likely be add-on modules for mods, such as Better Foliage, or even Buildcraft.
